Franco is dying in a hospital in Madrid. Prince Juan Carlos goes to the Sahara Desert in a last-ditch attempt to resolve with King Hassan II of Morocco the conflict over the Spanish colony. As the diplomatic mission arrives in Aaiun, so does a troupe that performs musical reviews. The Moroccan king then organizes a strange mobilization a “march” using civilians who will occupy the disputed territory amid a carnival atmosphere. The soldiers, always fighting their natural instinct, are not quite sure how to react to an “invasion” so removed from military tradition.
